I had to archive a mailbox for someone and recreate the mailbox
because she
was having problems, But I am now encountering a problem where I can't

accsess the old archive information.. how do I do it . I have tried
pointing
the archive location back to the original place where I had it but
that
didn't work. does anyone know anyways of accsessing the info in the
archive
?

thanx in advance
David

This is because the user's File ID (FID) has changed.

The FID is embedded in the archive directory so you should be able to
find it.

Try using the FID editor to change the FID on the Archive.

David,

see TID 10014261.
Find the domain in NWAdmin's NDS view and note the context. A possible

string could be
..yourdomain.OU1.OU2.O

David,

please post the complete command line you are using. I guess you don't
have
the complete distinguished name of the domain in the line.

Thanx for the reply

ok well this is how the NDS tree goes...

Dgblaw_Australia ( is the main tree then it is as follows)
DBGLAW
Sydney_office
Users ( is where account is )

I have tried makeing Sydney_office the default context and then typing

GW5AFE \\ LOCATION OF FILE AND NEW ID and then users as the domain
context

I also tried DGBLAW as the default context and used both the commands

USERS.SYDENY_OFFICE
and
just SYDNEY_OFFICE as ther context

all of these resulted in the same errors can someone please show me
what I'm
doing wrong

Regards,
David

Example:
A request to change the FID from "XYZ" to "ABC" in Archive
"\\CORP-SRV\MAIL\ARCHIVE\OFXYZARC" with a Domain database context of
"GroupWise.GW_Dom" would be entered as follows:

GW5AFE \\corp-srv\mail\archive\ofxyzarc abc .GW_Dom.GroupWise

Assuming "DBGLAW" is the name of the O, the line could be

GW5AFE \\corp-srv\mail\archive\ofxyzarc abc .Sidney_office.DBGLAW
