I'm getting myself psyched up to load "vpstart /install" on my 5.1
server with Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 8.1. Just wondering
if
anyone has encountered any problems with this mix. I'm wondering if I
should do this after hours just in case.

installed it on 1 testserver. no problems so far. this was an install,
no
upgrade. went flawlessly and did not require a reboot
Sounds good. After reading through the manual, I haven't seen how the
server virus signature updates are supposed to happen. How do you
receive and apply these?
Thanks,

we employ a w2k based 'master server', which retrieves the updates for
the
server group from symantec by means of liveupdate. when we initially
started
way back with 7.5ce, having a novell server doing these updates was
not
stable. we have no intentions of switching that back.
so you have 2 poosibilities, depending on the number of servers:
- let the nw server do the updating for the group ( even if it is 1
server )
- let a windows based server do the update. for the latter you have to
