Default Restructuring problem

I have 1 master table & 13 child.

I need to restructure 1 child table.

Removed referential integrity.

Added 2 new fields.

Added referential integrity.

Saved file.

ERROR

Detail Table Open operation failed.

No tables open,

I seem to remember that the problem lies with the VAL file.

Do I have to remove all the VAL files from all tables and rebuild or is
there a simpler way.

Well, part of the problem is using RI. We all recommend against it. For
details on why see my Database basics paper on our paradox resources
page (link in my signature) and Liz's RI articles on thedbcommunity.com.

Also make sure you are adding fields at the end of the roster.

Peter

Very few of us are using referential integrity.

I would try to
1) Remove referential integrity from child to master.
2) Save the child table.
3) Add the two new fields.
4) Rebuild the table.
5) And then add the RI back.
