Dead, No.
Growing, also No.
There have been lots of discussions in the various groups about the
relative merits of Paradox and Access. Search and you will find them.
Frankly, Paradox continues to be viable (I know some of you think
otherwise, bear with me). It can run in every version of windows out
there. It can run on a mac in a windows vm via Parallels at least. It
can also do that in linux. There has been some discussion of its ability
to run in linux natively (well, inside wine or codeweaver's stuff). So
at minimum you can keep your investment in it rolling forward.
I certainly wouldn'encourage you to LEARN access if you don't already
know it (nor pdox for that matter). If you plan on learning something
new, look at CS level dbs and languages like php, delphi, vb etc. But if
you are in pdox, you are viable as long as it meets your needs and you
have a legit license for win that you can install in a VM or run on eing
equipment. There have also been some posts that it looks like it will
run in Win7 too but no one knows that for sure yet. So figure you at
least have to the end of vista support for native pdox, maybe longer.
