Script - Monet?
Hi!
Just wonder if anyone know of a script which can give a "Monet" effect on a
picture? Monet - as in the painter!-)
I've tried for a while - but don't seem to find the finale touch...
If no script - even a tutorial would be fine!-)

Re: Script - Monet?
Monet had several forms... lily-pond, shimmering cathedral, and others.
Which are you trying for?

Sorry, I didn't think of that! Lily-pond was on my mind...

You might be able to find a script or tutuorial, but since it sounds like
you have a specific idea of the effect you want, I'd suggest the free
version of the Paint Engine plugin. There are a lot of presets that you can
use for starters and then play around with the settings. I didn't realize
they came out with a commercial version, but the freebie works fine, there's
just no Help file with it. There are installation instructions on the
download page, which you need to follow, otherwise the presets won't show
up.
I noticed just now that I have a preset called "Monet," which either came
with the plugin or was downloaded from a forum, can't remember exactly.
Anyway, if you decide to try the plugin and you don't have that preset, post
back here and I can show you how to add it. Here is the link to the free
version:

or if it wraps:

Thanks for the link, great plug-in! Although there where a lot of presets
already, "impression 1" and "impression 2" which gave me almost what I'm
looking for - I would be glad to have your "Monet" preset as well.
Have just tried the plug-in for a few minutes - so I
guess I'll come a bit closer with a little fiddling!-) Until than - your
preset might bring me closer...
Your guide to how to add your preset would be very much appreciated too!-)

Here are two options for you:
option #1:
To add just the Monet preset:
Find your fmachine.ini file and make a backup of it in case things get
messed up ;-) Then open the (non-backup) file with Notepad. Copy the
following line and paste it to the bottom of the list. Then CHANGE Setting07
to be Setting(whatever number would be sequentially last on your own list).
So if your last line is Setting25, for example, just change Setting07 to be
Setting26. Then Save the .ini file and reopen PSP and the plugin. Monet
should now be on your preset list.
Setting07=Monet;1,1,0,0,2,9,4294967161,45,7,0,65,7 6,123,19,3,0,0,0,4294967236,168
option #2:
You might prefer doing this, as it will give you even more presets. I've
attached a zip file with my fmachine.ini file in it. Make a backup copy of
the one you're using now as above, then just unzip this one and use it as a
replacement. Monet is included plus lots more that I obtained from public
forums i.e. freely shared ;-)

Thanks a lot!-)
I'll go for the second option, might find some settings which can come handy
some of these days!-)
