We are on GroupWise 7.x but our SMTP gateway is still 4.1.
My question is I have one station that is having problems making
connections. I'm not sure how the SMTP server authenticates the
different users sending through the SMTP Gateway.
We are still on a 4.1 Gateway because the GWIA is taken care of by the
State. So since the 4.1 SMTP Gateway is still working for everyone but
the one piece of software, I was just wondering if I'm just not getting
the authentication to the SMTP Gateway.
Does it just use the GroupWise user ID: and passwords to Authenticate?

4.1 doesn't authenticate. It's WIDE open.
Stop using it. Please.
