You mean, in proxy? At the server console?

Might help to know a few more details here, like NetWare version, BMgr
version, patch level, whether or not you have DNS configured on the
server....

You are getting a BorderManager error page back in your browser? (Error 502
Bad Gateway?)

By 'turned the firewall off', what do you mean?

Patch level? NetWare version and patch level?

Sure.

Here's how the system should work.
1. Browser is configured to use proxy server, almost always on port 8080.
2. Browser requests URL from proxy.
3. Proxy looks to see if it has URL address cached. If not, the BMgr server
must look it up.
4. BMgr server uses DNS servers configured in INETCFG, Protocols, TCPIP, DNS
Resolver Configuration to resolve the URL to an address.
5. BMgr server default filter exceptions allow the BMgr server to make DNS
requests.
6. Proxy gets IP address from DNS server, and goes to web site and gets http
pages.
7. Proxy returns pages to browser. Users happy. EBay makes another sale.

So, if the server is not able to resolve ANY names (not just mistyped), you
probably have the wrong DNS servers configured, or perhaps a problem with
filtering, and maybe even a routing issue.

Test:
1. Check the INETCFG setting above to see that you have put valid DNS server
entries in place.
2. Unload IPFLT to see if the server can then resolve a name.
3. Try pinging a known good IP address on the Internet, with IPFLT unloaded,
from the server to ensure it can access the internet.
4. If step 3 above succeeds, try pinging by name. If that succeeds, load
IPFLT and test again.
